WELCOME TO BC PERINATAL HEALTH PROGRAM!

The BCRCP was initiated jointly by the Ministry of Health and the British Columbia Medical Association through the Continuing Advisory Subcommittee on Perinatal Care (CASC) to facilitate and support the ongoing development of the regionalization of perinatal care within the province. The BCRCP is a province-wide resource supporting a high quality perinatal system. The Provincial Specialized Perinatal Services (PSPS) program has also been working to bring together all health authorities to improve planning and delivery of specialized perinatal health services.

A new organizational structure - the B.C. Perinatal Health Program (BCPHP) - has been created to coordinate both the BCRCP and PSPS. The BCPHP continues to work towards optimizing maternal, neonatal, and fetal health in the province through educational support to care providers, outcome analysis, networks and multidisciplinary perinatal guidelines. It works with hospitals, health authorities, community agencies, academic institutions and private practitioners to effectively link perinatal health care data and research to education and professional needs of care providers across BC.
